General Manager Responsibilities

General Managers are salaried exempt employees responsible for managing a Carl's Jr. Restaurant averaging $1 - $2 million in annual sales. The duties of a General Manager include, but, are not limited to the following:

• Responsible for providing our guests a healthy clean environment
• Responsible for serving hot safe food to our guests
• Responsible for generating sales by providing excellent guest service
• Responsible to ensure adequate staffing of employees
• Responsible for hiring/firing/disciplining/training/promoting employees
• Responsible for scheduling employees based on sales trends
• Responsible to delegate employee tasks
• Responsible for following and ensuring company standards and policies
• Responsible for issuing breaks and rest periods for employees
• Responsible for employee and guest safety in the restaurant
• Responsible for inventory control and ordering processes
• Responsible for involvement in local store marketing to increase sales
• Responsible to ensure general repair and maintenance of equipment or request a maintenance technician
• Responsible for daily cash control and reporting
• Responsible to complete weekly accounting paperwork
• Responsible to handle guest complaints professionally

Performing these obligations consistently and according to company standards require that a General Manager spend more than 50% of his/her job in exempt duties as described above.
